What is the best way to prevent calluses on the toes or feet?
I don’t disagree with the answer you already got, but that’s more about removal of calluses that are already there.
Prevention is simpler. Go barefoot or sock-footed when you can. Wear only shoes that fit, and if you’ve got shoes on, wear socks.
Avoid pointed or box-shaped toes and all high heels. Discard any shoes that rub. Do not perform any fitness activities that involve footwear (running, walking, tennis, baseball, basketball, soccer, football, etc.), and do not dance.
Better still, get yourself a palanquin and four strong men to carry you about so you need not walk.
Most doctors are glad to see a patient with calluses that indicate an active lifestyle. Podiatrists are delighted to see calluses that indicate abusive shoe fits.
